Goldfields STEM offers tailored incursion programs for schools and community organisations across the Goldfields region. We pack up everything and come to you - all your students need to bring is their curiosity.
For many students in regional communities, a Goldfields STEM incursion is the first time they have ever built or coded a robot. The excitement in those rooms is something you have to see to believe - and the confidence that grows throughout the session is remarkable.
School Incursions
Our school incursions bring hands-on robotics directly into your classroom, giving students a rich STEM experience that links directly to what they're learning in class.
What's Included
- Hands-on building, coding and driving with age-appropriate VEX robots (VEX 123, VEX GO or VEX IQ)
- A 2:1 student-to-robot ratio - every student gets plenty of hands-on time
- Up to 30 students per incursion session
- All equipment provided - robots, iPads, coding apps, challenge elements and more
- Curriculum documentation provided to teachers, linking the incursion to the WA Digital Technologies and Design Technologies Curriculum
- Incursions can be tailored to specific learning objectives or learning areas

Pre-Primary through to Year 9.

Full day or part day - we'll work with your timetable.

Community Incursions
Goldfields STEM incursions aren't just for schools. We love working with community organisations to bring robotics and STEM to a wider range of students and young people.

Duration
Community incursions range from 2 hours to a full day, depending on your needs.
Tailored for Your Group
Every community incursion is designed with the age and ability of your participants in mind. Programs are hands-on, engaging and adapted to suit your group — whether that's a group of five-year-olds at OSHC or a mixed-age community program.
Science & Engineering Incursions
Bring science and engineering to life with fun, hands-on incursions designed for schools, shires and community groups. Our science sessions are experiment-based, giving participants the chance to explore, test and discover through practical activities. Engineering incursions take a similar hands-on approach, with exciting building challenges that encourage problem-solving, creativity and teamwork. Engaging, interactive and designed to make learning fun, these sessions turn big ideas into experiences participants can see, build and explore for themselves.

We are proud to travel across the Goldfields to bring incursions directly to schools and communities — because access to quality STEM education shouldn't depend on your postcode.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder (Shire of Kalgoorlie-Boulder)
No travel costs.
Coolgardie, Kambalda, Norseman and Menzies
(Shires of Coolgardie, Dundas and Menzies) — Travel costs are added to the incursion fee.
Wiluna, Leonora, Leinster, Laverton, Esperance and Southern Cross
(Shires of Wiluna, Yilgarn, Leonora, Laverton and Esperance) — Travel and accommodation costs are additional to the incursion fee.
