Goldfields STEM
Where Kalgoorlie Kids Build, Code and Create the Future.
Hands-on robotics and STEM programs for students from Pre-Primary to Year 12, right here in the Goldfields.
Real Skills. Real Robots. Real Futures.
At Goldfields STEM, we believe every child in the Goldfields deserves world-class STEM opportunities - close to home.
Our programs are hands-on, curriculum-aligned and designed for the world our students are growing up in. In a region where mining and technology go hand in hand, the skills students build with us aren't just useful in the classroom - they're essential for the careers of tomorrow.
Whether your child is building their first robot at age five or competing in Perth at age thirteen, Goldfields STEM gives them the confidence, capability and skills to thrive.

What Your Child Will Learn
Build
Students get hands-on with age-appropriate robots - assembling components, solving engineering challenges and thinking like designers.
Code
From simple sequencing for our youngest learners to complex automation for senior students, coding is at the heart of every program.
Drive
Students put their robots to work - navigating courses, completing challenges and developing critical thinking, teamwork and communication along the way.

About Goldfields STEM
Goldfields STEM is a locally owned and operated STEM education business based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, servicing schools and communities across the wider Goldfields region.
We partner with local schools, community organisations, mining companies and Shires to bring engaging, practical STEM education directly to the students who need it most - including regional and Aboriginal students, and girls who are too often underrepresented in STEM.
All programs are directly linked to the Western Australian Curriculum and delivered with a genuine understanding of regional community life.

Meet Martha Ercole
Founder & Director
Goldfields STEM was founded by Martha Ercole, a qualified, TRBWA-registered STEM teacher with extensive experience delivering science and technologies programs from Pre-Primary through to Year 12.
Martha combines deep curriculum expertise with trauma-informed teaching practices to create learning environments that are inclusive, engaging and genuinely meaningful for every student. She is passionate about building education-to-industry pathways that allow young people in the Goldfields to access world-class STEM opportunities without having to leave the region they call home.
"I still have students running up to me in town to talk about all things STEM and robotics. Events and programs like these extend far beyond a single lesson - the impact lasts."
Built for the Goldfields
We don't just teach robotics - we connect STEM to the world students already know. The Goldfields is a region shaped by innovation, mining and technology. Our programs reflect that.
Mining is becoming increasingly automated. The students sitting in our classes today will be the workforce of tomorrow. We give them a head start - not just in coding and engineering, but in problem solving, adaptability and confidence.
As one of our students put it while driving a robot for the very first time "This is just like driving my dad's tractor!" That moment of connection? That's what we're here for.

Proudly Part of the Community
Goldfields STEM is an active member of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community. We have volunteered at and partnered with events including the Kids Research Institute STEM Fest Kalgoorlie, and earlier this year we organised and MC'd the inaugural 'Girls in STEM Brunch'.
We are committed to expanding access to STEM for students of all backgrounds across the region.
